no fault auto insurance michigan
Monday, May 10th, 2010Son in a car accident without insurance, please help, we need counseling?
My 19 year old son had no insurance on his vehicle, when he was in a car accident. The vehicle has a name in my husband. My son has found his brakes to give. One person was injured in another car. My son already went to court for breach of uninsured (Michigan). We received a letter for my husband and the son of a law firm to the injured party. They want us to whether we had insurance at the time, and if so, know that an accident report has already been done, indicating that there was no insurance. My husband had the assurance of our vehicles we drive, but we do not have the vehicle brought my son assured. We gave our son. Let us advise our insurance information, our personal vehicles, who were not involved in the accident? So we will be sued? We have no money or property of anything. I work at minimum wage and my husband .. Unemployed, we are fighting. My son is in school and has no assets.
Unfortunately, I see that you, the establishment of a payment plan with the attorney have the other party. I hate for you as physical injury was involved. That makes things much more seriously than you know how medical bills can run, even if its a bit easier. Because your husband is the owner of the car, is the financial responsibility will fall on him. All of your son will take a ticket and perhaps his license for some time. I do not know if your son does not get was insurance on his own for a car that did not rightfully belong. Some insurance companies do not. I would at least call your own insurance company and explain the situation. They will tell you if you have options with them. Otherwise I can not let me communicate with my lawyer and legal advice. Normally, if both parties are ready, you can create a payment plan with their lawyer (or take a bank loan) to pay damages and injuries. I would say that your son certainly to get a job because he really needs to the responsibility you to support this bill (because he was the driver). I would at least my own lawyer look at the application and make sure it sounds right. If the claim sounds outrageous, you can spend your money on lawyers or just the requirement to pay.
